So I recently received an email telling me all about the new Kors Michael Kors’s Puffer vests. One look at these puffy beauties and I knew I had to have one. One look at the price tag, $375, and I knew I could no way afford to buy one. After almost 4 months of blogging however I figured I could keep the dream alive by trying to find an inexpensive version.
Don't get me wrong - this line is totally versatile and very practical, not to mention super chic. Everywhere you look all the designers have their own line of Puffers, from Moncler to DKNY to Burberry - Puff is hot. If you can afford it, I suggest definitely buying.
However, for the rest of us, I have found a great alternative:
GAP has a line of Puffer Coats and Vests in a similar style and with various color options. They offer a vest, coat and jacket version. Although the styles are simpler than the Kors line, they offer the same laid back but sophisticated look. Luckily for us, Gap has all their outwear on sale (they also offer extra discounts every so often so check our Facebook page and Tweets for extra savings codes).

GAP also has coats similar to the Kors Puffers. There are short and long versions. GAP has always been my source for quality clothing and these coats are no different. Check out the Long Belted Puffer Coat, $89, and the Faux Fur Puffer Jacket, $96. Also check out the Lightweight Puffer Jacket, a hoodless and lighter version of the Faux Fur version (below right).

When purchasing online or in-store make sure to try these on over your clothing to make sure you get the right size and fit. Although these coats are well made, even the best Puffers will add some bulk – for some of us even a tiny amount of extra padding can make all the difference. Also, although the Lightweight versions are thinner this also means you might end up needing to layer more, so you still have to worry about extra bulk. Remember: Fit is key! (not matter what you wear).

The subs are cute but the MK one just pops *SIGH* as soon as it goes on sale, i'm IN THERE LIKE SWIMWAER!
