Bootie Love

So, OTK's basically make my world go round. However there is another style out there that has caught my eye: the lace up bootie. Booties have been around for a while, but this Fall/Winter they remerged with a super high heel, chunky platform and all kinds of detailing to reflect this season's trends.

Here are my faves:

Military - This style keeps the utility jackets and cargo pants trend going with battle worthy boots. The "Clovurr", $150, from Steve Madden will have you suited and ready for war in their military lace-up (left)Also check out the Kelsi Dagger's "Bellamy", $175, (above, right) and Dolce Vita's "Joelle", $239. For a more affordable look try the “Warrior” by Very Volatile, $90, is a nice option. Even less expensive is the "Sweater Top Boot" from Charlotte Russe, $42.50 but I have only seen it online, so buyer beware with this option.

Combat - Think of the grunge classic (that flat boot with buckles and chunky front), add a little lady-like polish and heel and you have the new combat lace up bootie. I am enamored with the "Eva" by Kelsi Dagger (left). Steve Madden's "Caddet", $169, in Black, is another great leather option. Try this trend in suede with Sam Edelman's "Vancouver" bootie, $229, for a super high heeled look (above, right).

Shearling - The must have material of Fall can now be found everywhere, including (thank gosh) booties. BCBGeneration has a pretty black bootie with gold accents, the “
Melo”, $149. For a cute suede version check the “Bountiful” from Guess, $139. You can also try a taller suede version, the “Winsford” from Sam Edelman, $225. My absolute to die for pick is the "Josh" by Dolce Vita, $240 (which is more buckle and less lace-up but I could not resist sharing it with you).
For more affordable versions : Try these that I found online (I have not seen them in person). The "Ramina" by KensieGirl, $79, and the "Lace up Shearling" from CharlotteRusse.com, $40.

Try these lace up booties with dresses and frilly tights to contradict their more utilitarian and masculine structure. You can also go with boyfriend fit jeans tucked into the top with feminine cardigans or a great blazer and lots of accessories. Don't be safe - this is definitely one shoe style you can experiment with. Try different looks and have fun.

On your marks, get set, LACE!
