I am drooling over the ballerina flats obsession for 2011! I love flats for two reasons: One, they take casual dressing to chic levels and Two; they are awesome for almost all weather (save snowstorms). Check out Olivia Palermo wearing her flats here.
My fave designs come from Tory Burch and Lanvin. Tory Burch has bright hues in a patent design and Lanvin brings a modern take on the two-tone flat style. Both styles are gorg but at over $200 - they're out of my price range.
So I have found a bunch of less expensive versions just as stylish as these designer ones:

If the two-tone style isn't for you, try a bright solid. GAP's Patent City flat $39, comes in a bunch of colors. You can also go for a more embellished look like Forever 21's Scrunched Ballet flat $17- a cute jeweled option. For a classic neutral look, check out Corso Como "Festive" Ballet Flats, $59 - they come with their own tote so you can carry them around even when wearing heels.

Wear these flats with everything and anything. Try casual styles, with leggings or jeans, a T, and a blazer. Throw on with a sweater dress, fitted skinnies, or jeggings. Go formal and pair them with your maxi skirts and blouses.
The great thing about these flats is they can be worn with tights now, leggings in Spring and Fall, and bare in the summer. However you style them - you will look great.
