Nail Trends: 2011

6 New Shades by Prabal Gurung

So I am excited about all the nail color debuts for this Spring. 

Here are my top 5 favorite nail trends:

1. Gold - I am loving gold everything for Spring (more on that later). Not only is gold just an amazing color in and of itself, it is also the last shade I would think of for Spring. Hence, perfection because I am all about fashionable randomness for this upcoming season and gold nails are it. Expand on this trend with other glittery shades. 

2. Orange - The big color for this Spring, orange is taking over. You'll see it everywhere from clothing, to accessories, and now to your nails. Have fun with this, but beware, in or not, orange is still a difficult color to pull off. So proceed boldly but with with caution. 


3. Sally Hansen - Yes this is a brand, but I am featuring them as a trend because they have two upcoming debuts. One is a new line of 6 shades by Prabal Gurung inspired by their SS11 runway collection. The other is a new Minx like manicure set meant to be more affordable and easier to use. 4. Red - Another classic. There is something about red nails that brings me back to an Old Hollywood state of mind. Go all out and match your nail polish to your lipstick a la Marilyn Monroe and Katherine Hepurn 

5. Blue  - Last Spring Mint and Turquoise were the big shades. This Spring the blue-green shades are back again in the form of Aqua and Teal nail polishes.
