Stand Out in Statement Necklaces

Lately I have found a bit of an earring shortage - atleast a shortage of anything really standout. Rather than settle for the not-that-awesome earrings I find, I have decided to let earrings go for a bit and focus instead on statement necklaces. From bib to feather to chain, statment necklaces are my new fave accessory.

Here are some options:
Gold Chain and Feather  Necklace $8

I LOVE feathers, on earrings, on rings, whatever - I love them. So a statement necklace with feathers is a definite buy for me. Forever 21 has this gold Feather Chain necklace for only $8, in sage and pink. Asos offers a silver chain version with grey feathers, on sale here for $19 (reg. $34). Torrid has a similar silver chain option with either white or black feather for $11.

Arden B Chain and Stone Bib $34
Bib style is another take on the statement necklace, made famous (to me) by the women of MTV's The City and other celebrities that spent all last year and this season in them. Arden B has the Fringe Chain and Stone Bib in silver and gold and a Matte Bead Long necklace, both $34. They are also having a Buy 1 Get 1 50% off sale now and $5 flat shipping.
Tinley Road $68

Go beyond stones with ribbons and beading. Asos's Fiona Paxton Beaded Ribbon Tie necklace $67 (regular $326!!) is a great chunky option. Piperlime's Glam Statement necklace, the Tinley Road, $68, is delicate take on this style. For a clasic gemstone option, try Max&Chloe's Blu Bojoux Emerald Facet Bib necklace, $60 (reg. $125!).

Feather Chunky Collar $48

Happy F Designs on Amazon offers more unique options. My favorites are these: Feather Chunky Collar necklace and Beaded Frill Bib necklace both priced at $48.

Easy styling is key to these necklaces - don't over do it with a statement piece. These should not be worn with earring - studs only if you must wear a pair.

Throw your piece on over your top to glam up a casual outfit, bring it with you to work to take you from meetings to cocktails, or make it trealy standout with a low cut top or strapless outfit when you go out.

These necklaces are ideal with swept back hair. I also love them for bad hair days (it gets quite humid in NYC) when a drab look is so hard to avoid - I always end up in a bun or ponytail, now I will be slicking my hair back and adding a statement necklace.
