School is in Session: Backpacks!

This Winter (yes Winter attire has already descended upon us) there is a new accessory I do not know how we will live without - the backpack! Yes, what was once considered elemnetary, reserved for 5th graders in school yards, is now back and better than ever. Stow away your crossbody and make room for this new addition to your purse collection.

It's small, practical, and super chic. You could not ask more in a handbag.

Wear it with everything,

with your casual looks all day long and then go daring and wear it with your formal wear at night. You can go simple orembellished, either style will work- though Herr always airs on the side of classic simplicity when on a budget.

This trend is available in all materials, so those of you against leather do not fret - you have some great options. The ones featured here are avaliale at Bloomingdale's and Bloomingdales.com. The one above (upper right hand corner) is from Aqua and is priced at $175.00 -available in black as well.. The one at left is a gorgeous vegan (!) option from Matt & Nat at $225.00 - the studs are to die for.

For those of you who want something more afforadble just to wear while this trend is super hot, try Forever 21. The one seen here (right) is priced under $35.00. There are sure to be more options popping up in H&M, ZARA, and Mango - look out for them in the upcoming weeks.

Herr Suggests: There are some cotton material and cartoon options out there - I would steer clear of these however, since they end of looking like regular backpacks and not purses, which is the whole point of this style. However if that is what you are going for then check out Lucky for casual earthy versions or LeSportsac or Kipling for fun illustrated ones.
